Bamboo Strainer Ladle by Shimomoto Kazuho
This is an amazing kitchen utencil made of bamboo only. A great original design skillfully created by artistic craftsmanship.
Scooping part and handle are made of the single piece of bamboo. Scoop is carved out from thick node, handle is from fiber and steam-bent.
Different variety of bamboo piece is used to support the top part of handle.
The bamboo materials were smoked by the maker's kiln to add durability as well as resistance to bacteria and mold.
Bamboo is a very special and interesting plant that has been utilized in many ways in Asia.
With its highly resistant nature to humidity, every Japanese household used to have kitchen tools made of bamboo.
