Harimi are made of layers of Japanese paper, framed with bamboo. It is then finished with persimmon tannin, the traditional all-purpose water/dust/shock-proof varnish. Lightweight, flexible and durable, they are skilfuly crafted by artisans at Shirokiya Denbei.
The maker, Shirokiya Denbei, is a family run broom maker established in 1830. Now with the 7th generation owner, the company is one of the most active and prominent as corn broom maker in Japan, still operating in the very heart of Tokyo.
Please note each dustpan is slightly different because of the handmade nature and the natural material used.
