One of a kind ceramic tea cup. Made in Tokoname, Japan.
Functional line of highly acclaimed studio potter, Ohara Koichi.
This cup is very small and originally made for drinking Japanese/Chinese tea. They are also great as sipper for Japanese rice wine (Sake) or other kinds of liquor.
These cups wear the same glaze but turned out in different colours after firing, which created unique character on each piece.
Please note that as a handmade nature, no two pieces are exactly alike in shape, size, colour and texture.

About Maker
Ohara Koichi is a highly acclaimed studio potter based in Tokoname, Japan. Ohara draws his inspiration from the raw textures in the nature. He mixes various local soils and materials to make his clay, glaze and slip, which often contain grit. Ohara studied physics at Meisei University before becoming a ceramic artist.
