Hiba Bucket With Handle
Versatile small bucket made of Hiba wood.
This item is originally made as bath bucket. Alternatively it is perfect as wine cooler or flower vase as well.
As widely used as bath bucket, this item is highly resistant to humidity thanks to the anti-mould properties that is contained in Hiba wood.
Hiba is one of the most valued types of wood in Japan. It is of cypress family and well known for its fresh grassy scent. Highly durable, resistant to water and anti-septic, Hiba has been widely used from building of temples to insect repellent, and tested by time. The properties contained in this wood is proved to be anti-bacterial naturally, and utilized in many way.
Handmade by craftsmen in Japan based on the cask making tradition.
The handle is the same piece of wood with the bucket, NOT jointed with. It means there is no chance of the handle coming off from the bucket under normal circumstances.

Care
This item is meant to be used for bathing and highly resistant to humidity. However we recommend to let this item air-dried completely after use, occasionally turning upside down.
If you leave the bowl unused for long time, the copper hoops can get loose. It is because the natural wood can shrink when very dry and lost natural moisture. If this happened, put the hoops back onto the place and leave the bowl filled with water in full overnight. The wood will regain its moisture and naturally expand.
