Large Wide Rimmed Plate - Sakurai Minako
Hand thrown large plate. Made in Japan.
This plate is a beautiful object in its own right. It is also perfectly functional, bringing dramatic effect on any food served on it with its wide rim.
The surface texture is very nuanced, and can be felt very dry, matte and coarse. The material and firing method is somewhere between stoneware and porcelain.
Food safe.
Suitable as dinner plate, serving platter or tea tray.
This item has hard coarse surface texture and is not as smooth. There are some unevenness and small dents, which won't affect functionality or neither we consider as flaw. Piece B slightly wobbles with its imperfectly flat base.
Please note that due to it's handmade nature, no two pieces are exactly alike in colour, shape and texture.
