Hand thrown/build ceramic tea pot. Made in Tokoname, Japan.
Functional line of the highly acclaimed studio potter.
Elaborately crafted clay strainer is build inside the pot so that loose tea leaves will not come out from or block the spout.
This one of a kind tea pot wears White Stone Glaze. Grit contained in the clay material is visible on the pot's surface which is pale grey with subtle green hue.

Ohara Koichi is a highly acclaimed studio potter based in Tokoname, Japan. Ohara draws his inspiration from the raw textures in the nature. He mixes various local soils and materials to make his clay, glaze and slip, which often contain grit. Ohara studied physics at Meisei University before becoming a ceramic artist.
